Meet the Team: Hannah’s Journey at Unique Home Care NI

Hannah has been part of Unique Home Care NI for nearly six years and now works as an Administrator within the senior team.
Her role helps keep care running smoothly for both clients and staff. From staying connected with clients to supporting new team members as they settle in, Hannah plays an important part in making sure people feel listened to, supported and well cared for.
For Hannah, working in care has always felt like the right path. She knew she wanted to be part of a company where values mattered, and Unique was the only care company she wanted to work for.
Starting her journey with Unique
Hannah always knew she wanted to work in care. Before joining Unique Home Care NI, she had already heard about the company and the reputation it had built across Belfast and Northern Ireland.
As Hannah explains:
“I always knew I wanted to work in care. I’d heard a lot about Unique and the great reputation it had, and it was the only care company I wanted to work for.”
For Hannah, the values of the company were what stood out most. She wanted to work somewhere that cared properly, treated people with respect, and gave her the chance to make a difference.
“The values of the company really matched what I was looking for, and I knew it was somewhere I could make a difference.”
Supporting clients to receive the care they deserve
As an Administrator, Hannah plays an important part in helping care run smoothly behind the scenes. The best part of her job is staying connected with clients and knowing they are getting the support they need.
“The best part of my job is catching up with our clients and making sure they’re getting the care they deserve.”
That client contact is important to Hannah. Home care is personal, and small details can make a real difference to how someone feels in their own home. She loves seeing clients doing well, building confidence and achieving their goals, whether those goals are big or small.

Hannah also enjoys seeing new staff settle into the team. Starting a new role in care can feel like a big step, especially for someone who is new to home care or joining a new company. Having the right support around them can make all the difference.
Hannah says:
“It’s also lovely watching new staff settle into the team, grow in confidence, and really enjoy what they do.”

Why the little things matter in care
For Hannah, one of the most rewarding parts of care is knowing that small moments can have a big impact.
“I think care is such a rewarding job because the little things really do matter.”
That might be a chat, a smile, or simply taking the time to listen. In domiciliary care, carers are often supporting people in the place they know best, their own home. For some clients, that visit may be one of the most important parts of their day.
As Hannah puts it:
“You might be the only person someone sees that day, and a chat, a smile or simply taking the time to listen can make all the difference.”
That belief reflects the heart of care at Unique Home Care NI. Practical support matters, but so does kindness and noticing the person behind the care plan.
Progressing into the senior team
One of Hannah’s proudest moments has been progressing into the senior team.
This has given her the chance to build new skills, take on more responsibility and support clients and staff in different ways.
“One of the things I’m most proud of is progressing into the senior team. It’s given me the chance to learn new skills, take on more responsibility, and support both our clients and staff in different ways.”
For Hannah, every day brings something different, and that variety is one of the things she loves most about working at Unique.
