Debbie Walton

Debbie is the owner and Managing Director of Unique Home Care NI. After many years working in care, she saw how easily the heart of care could be lost when services became rushed and task-focused. While practical support will always matter, Debbie believed care should also give people time, dignity, reassurance and real human connection.

That belief helped shape Unique Home Care NI. Her vision was to create a family-run service where care feels personal, where clients are known as individuals, and where staff have the time to build trust rather than simply complete a list of tasks.

For Debbie, good care is about the whole person. It means noticing practical needs, but also understanding what helps someone feel safe, settled and less alone. It means supporting families as well as clients, giving them confidence that their loved one is being cared for properly at home.

Her approach continues to guide Unique today: care should never feel rushed, impersonal or like something being done to someone. It should help people keep their routines, their dignity and their sense of self in the place they know best.
