Emma Cowan-Henry
Operations Co-ordiantor
Emma is part of the operational team at Unique Home Care NI, supporting the North Down area. Before joining Unique, Emma worked outside the care sector and spent six years managing a call centre. During Covid, while working from home, she began to re
alise she wanted a role that felt more personal and people-focused.
She joined Unique nearly five years ago and found work that allowed her to help people in a more meaningful way. Her role now includes supporting runs, rotas and the wider operational side of care, helping to make sure both clients and staff have the right support in place.
Although much of Emma’s work happens behind the scenes, she still values the chance to be involved with clients through the responder rota. For her, one of the most rewarding parts of the role is getting out, catching up with people, and knowing that the work she does helps clients continue living well at home.
Emma’s story shows how important the operational team is to good care. The rotas, planning, communication and day-to-day organisation all help frontline carers deliver support that feels reliable, personal and well-managed. For Emma, care is ultimately about people, and she is proud to play a part in enabling clients to live their best lives.
